La Villaine in Rennes, France is a reasonably wide river containing both coarse and game fish. There are four pegs,. all located around a popular canoeing stretch and each contain. barbel, bleak, bullheads, chub, bream, dace, eels, grayling, minnows, perch, pike, roach, ruffe, salmon, and trout ( brown and rainbow ).

The river is mainly fished for the large Salmon and rainbow trout that run up this river. These are difficult to catch and will probably require fly fishing or spinning to stand the best chance. Some decent salmon are caught bait fishing occasionally also. For coarse anglers, there are some big barbel and chub to go for.

All in all, this is a pretty tough venue, but can be very rewarding.
